Use your archers and your special weapons pot of oil, castle mangonel, and burning logs to defend the castle walls from the hordes of enemy attempting to destroy your keep. If your walls fall and your Lord is killed, the battle is lost and the game is over. If you complete construction of the keep, the enemy will retreat and you will claim victory. Play well, and you will be awarded points. Try to accumulate as many points as possible then submit your score to the world-wide scoreboard and compete with players from around the globe.

There is no sense in any AI battle as long as they hold back troops to attack you Every AI holds back troops - as i said before: the game will start to lag as soon as your machine can not handle anymore the number of troops that stand idle!! Each AI has different target priorities: Saladin and Shah attack the richest person, the Wolf attacks the weakest, Richard and Sultana will always attack the player before anyone else, Slave King and Rat attack the closest, and the Caliph attacks a random target.
Did the AIs pull all their units back to the keep when the castle was breached? I remember them doing that in 1. No and Yes - but not really - Attack and Defense seem to be handled as different routines - One castle may be attacked and at the same time send out an attacking force somewhere else!
