Xmind installation problems

If you are using a school PC i'm v. I'm a linux user and have just started using xmind this last couple of days - from what i can see it is linux design. I can't advise on installing the windoze version as i stopped using it about two years ago. I suggest you give it a try on a spare machine as there are super education resources on ubuntu my linux version. In linux you just download it from the repos - and it works.

I'd go and see a school technician They may give you an old PC to try linux on. The great advantage of linux is it isn't so resource hungry as windows so an old P3 will be fine [1Ghzmb]. If it had been the portable which from what I understand allows you to choose which OS, then that could have been the problem BUT seeing as I copied the filename I had into my previous post, it was clearly the win version, as the portable version has "portable" in the filename.

The portable version also seems to be 62Mb compared with the 15Mb or so file I downloaded which tallies with the windows ver filesize. When I look into the installation folder on the HD after running it most of the files present are ".

I will be downloading the portable ver to see if that works instead. As such going to the techies isn't an option. I'm basically compiling a library, so to speak, of useful software to use in my lesson preparations. That's why I'm looking at Xmind for revision purposes, although I will take a look at the others you mentioned. Same issue here. It's not exactly great PR for this product. It seems unreasonable, however, to require installation of a separate package to make a simple adjustment like this.

Other Gnome based distributions include it by default and figuring out the package to install was not easy until I found this post. There are some really cool options and this makes XMind a great choice for a sophisticated mind mapping program that is free. Productivity , Software. December 17, at pm. I am having the same issue. June 3, at am. I still cannot find a solution, I press Alt in windows mode and nothing changes unless i move it and it is no longer unlinked, I then also press ctrl and that will create a copy, I try shift but this delinks the subtopic, it is not straight forward for me at the moment.
