Hi, I'm wondering if you've ever found a solution to your docking problem. I havn't tried deleting the hardware profile - I might try this. I am also having the same problem with my D Fresh windows XP Pro install.
Can't undock. It has never done this before, and disabling the LPT port doesn't work. This same thing started happening to my D yesterday.
Prior to that I had no issues with undocking. There has to be a way to find the offending program and shut it down. Anyone know of a way to list the resources used by running programs? Still searching Kabong1 2 Bronze. Which, is still the Docked profile. Then you put your system into standby or hibernate mode again, and head back to the office, drop it back into the dock, and power on.
The operating system is still running off the Docked profile, but by this time, it's already made changes to the profile when you powered up at home. As such, it redetects your secondary external display, and resets to default settings. Or so it should. I'm not a Windows programmer, so I can't really explain the abnormal behavior of which display becomes primary.
Have you tried doing a regular full-system shutdown when you leave the office, before you undock the system? So when you go home and power on, it should load the Undocked profile, and not touch the settings for your Docked profile.
Then do a full-system shutdown at night, and a clean power-up the following morning at the office. Immanuel 2 Bronze. I can confirm this exact behaviour. Coupled with a lot of annoyances related to the nvidia driver: BSODs when running java applications on dual screen monitors solved by disabling d3d as found in a web forum , disappearing windows an mouse pointer on second display, etc.
